ABOUT THE ARTISTS (t) Helene Ruiz was born in New York City January 15th, 1958, and has been drawing and painting since childhood. Her father was the major influence in her creative interests and he always encouraged her to express herself through her art. He, being an artist himself, was her teacher, mentor and inspiration. In 1973, Ms. Ruiz received a scholarship to a summer arts workshop at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. While attending one of those classes, she meet Salvador Dali in-person, which helped to ignite her passion for Surrealism. Her works have been previously been exhibited in New York City, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New Orleans, Maryland, Jamaica W.I., Dominican Republic, South Florida and Virginia. In October of 2008 , Ruiz organized the "Urban Individualists" an artists collective, as part of her vision to assemble artists, both visual and performing, into a collective collaborative body. Ruiz lives and works out of her apartment. (btm.half)Pascale Baud, is a French artist and art teacher. Her work is influenced by experimentation within the process of creating an art work. She has collaborated in cadavre exquis works with artists she has not met in-person. She also produces works of secret images titled "Secret Postcards", and artist's books of graphic drawings titled "Small Weak Drawings" (very similar to automatic writing) which connect also, to Surrealism. Her book editions are regularly exhibited at Délires de Livres ("Crazy Books") in France.
